Our Story
Don Barr established The Sound Doctor in 1976 in Fort Collins, Colorado located in downtown on Remington Street. The business has been an authorized service center for dozens of home audio brands such as Marantz & Yamaha. We still do things the “old school” way which includes our DOS based inventory & ticketing system (with dot matrix printers!). We retain a large inventory of paper service documents for reference alongside an extensive electronics parts selection. Our staff are trained on a wide variety of test equipment which we use to troubleshoot any problem.
Since 1996 our location has moved to Loveland, Colorado where we have been ever since. While most other service centers have closed, The Sound Doctor has remained due to superior service and commitment to keeping high fidelity alive.
The Future
As technology continues to evolve, the need for reliable electronic repair remains constant. We’re committed to serving not only Colorado but the entire mainland U.S., with plans to offer mail-in repairs and online ordering. Stay tuned for what’s next!
